Ridi viharaya (Silver temple)
Ridi viharaya (Silver temple,Ridi means Silver,viharaya means temple) is a buddhist temple situated in Ridigama 18 km away from Kurunegala of north western province.10 km away from Ibbagamuwa. Ridigama area named after the silver which was given to the foundation of the Ruwanwelisaya in Anuradhapura,It is for this reason that the temple is named.There are several caves around the temple.They are considered as inhabited by buddhist monks.King Dutugamunu(Anuradhapura)300 masons and 700 servants
employs to build this temple. This temple was reformed in the 18th century during the reign of king Keerthi Sri Rajasinha of Kandy.(1746-1778 CE)
