Naval Museum Trincomalee Sri Lanka.


This museum situvatsd in  2 km away from trincomalee town . The museum is located on the place where the Dutch first landed.The museum is housed in a very old building.From 1602 to 1795 this building was used by the Dutch as the official residence of the naval commissioner.From 1795 to 1948 it was used as the official residence of the municipal commissioner.This museum opened by the then Sri Lanka president Mahinda Rajapaksa in 2013.The Netherlands has assisted in the restoration of the building where the museum is located.The museum was opened to mark 65th independence day of Sri Lanka.
