Anuradhapura Kingdom

The Anuradhapura kindom was the first kingdom  of Sri Lanka.this kingdom was founded by king Pandukabhaya.King Devanampiyathissa was an outstanding king during the Anuradhapura period.The ruins of temples built by him can still be seen today.The sacred Atamasthan (eight sacred places that,Lankaramaya,The Jaya sri maha bodhi(tree planted by king Devanampiyathissa 307-267 BC),The Lovamahapaya,The Mirisavati stupa,The Jethavanarama stupa,The Abhayagiri stupa,The Thuparama stupa,The ruwanwali maha stupa) built by different king sat different times is located in Anuradhapura.Anuradhapura is 203km away from Colombo.
