Dumhinda waterfalls Sri Lanka Dumhinda (also known as Dunhinda) is one of the beautiful water fall in Sri Lanka.(dum =දුම් in Sinhala language means smoke) The name is derived from the fact that when the water falls from waterfall,  a huge smoke erupts. This water fall located 5km away from Badulla Sri Lanka.The height of the water fall is 64m.One has to walk 1km to reach the water fall.This water fall created from the Badulu oya. Haththi kuchchi temple complex

Haththi kuchchi temple complex situated in North-Western province Sri Lanka 3.5 away from Mahagalkadawala junction.Haththi kuchchi means stomach of elephant. The name has derived from the fact that it has a stone shaped an elephant.This was a large monastery complex.It is said that king Sirisangabo (251-253 A.D) gave his own head to a man . Gotabaya, brother of Sirisangabo, became king of  Anuradhapura after the escape of  king Sirisangabo.but Gotabhaya was afraid of Sirisangabo's come back and fight again.  So he used a trick to kill Sirisangabo.The man was brought the head of Sirisangabo as a result of that tactic.The earlier view was that king Sirisangabo gave his head in Attanagalla in Gampaha.But today Hththikuchchi is considered as the place where the head is given.There is amazing creations made of stone. Thonigala rock inscription

Thonigala rock inscription             Thonigala rock inscription situated in Tonigala in Anamaduwa town,puttalama district,North Western province ,Sri Lanka.There are two inscriptions in the rock and each inscription is hundred feet long and each letter is one feet high. D olukanda (kanda mean mountain)  is a mountain situated north-west province  kurunegala, doluwa village, in Sri Lanka, height 600m.According to the folklore,this mountain is part of the himalayas of india. It is said to contain a large number of herbs. Legend has it that Hanuma, a monkey brought this piece of medicine with herbs from India.To get the top of the mountain,needs help of a guide. Sigiriya Sri Lanka

                             Sigiriya Rock Fortress is considered as one of the world heritages nominated by UNESCO. It is located in the Central Province of Sri Lanka. This fortress was built by King Kashyapa. He built his palace on the top of this rock and decorated its sides with colourful frescoes. It is nearly 100 metres high. One could see the Lion Gate, the Mirror Wall, landscaped gardens, water gardens and caves in Sigiriya. The fountains are still active during the rainy season. It is one of the best preserved examples of ancient urban planning and is the most visited historic site in Sri Lanka. It’s our duty to protect this ancient monumen.
