Devinuwara light house. (Dondra light house) Sri Lanka Devinuwara (Devinuwara means city of gods) Light house situated in 6km away from Matara of southern province Sri Lanka.It is the tallest light house in South  East Asia.It is maintained by the Sri Lanka port authority.It was built by the British 1887-1890.Iron and bricks required for this purpose were imported from England.It is 49m high and has seven floors.You have to climb 196 steps to get to the top of it.   Prana Jeewa plant (Dancing Plant or telegraph plant)ප්‍රාණ ජීව පැළෑටිය prana means life jeewa means living. This is considered as a very valuable medicine in Sri Lanka. It is said that when a very ill patient is given a little juice from the leaves of this plant, the disease disappears. The leaves are also used to make valuable medicinal oils in Sri Lanka. The other specialty of this plant is that the small leaves under the big leaves rotate throughout the day. When any sound is heard, it can be observed that the leaves rotates rapidly.
