Puttalam power plant is the largest power plant in Sri Lanka.There are 25 wind turbines generate 20 MW to the national electricity grid.It is located on the south - east shore of the Puttalam lagoon in puttalam Sri Lanka.Construction of this power plants was began in 2009.Construction cost was USD 40 million.Owner of this power plant is Wind force (pvt) Ltd.This power plants is maintained by Seguwantivu and Vidatamunai(pvt) Ltd.Wind power Electricity cheaper than other energy sources.The way to go there from colombo,wattala,seeduwa,Negombo,Kattuwa,Waikkal,Bolawatta,Nainamadama,Wennappuwa,Marawila,Mhawewa,Bangadenya,Arachchikattuwa,Anawilundawa,Baththuluoya,Akkaraweli,Mundel,Mangala eliya,Madurankuli,Karikattiya,Thilladi,Puttalam.
